7gen Planning was hired to provide landscape architecture services throughout the Deerbrooke community after the first phase of construction began. 7gen’s primary focus was to provide a consistent theme throughout the community’s elements. Our team designed the entry monumentation and site elements to relate to the materials and style previously chosen for the recreation center, giving residents a continuous and connected feeling. The Phase 1 planting palette was continued and expanded for the required landscape lots along the community collector road.

The property is divided by a creek spanned by a large limestone block bridge, one of the most notable elements of the project. 7gen enhanced the bridge with native planting, limestone columns and fencing, and a covered shade structure at each end to offer a rest area for residents using the sidewalks and nearby trail.

7gen designed a conceptual park and trail system to offer recreational opportunities. The trails utilize the greenbelt created along the creek and connects residents to the recreation center and parks throughout the community. The parks were located to save some of the larger existing trees on site, thus offering immediate shade to its users.
